What We Stand For
Smart energy purchasing, rooftop solar, fight electricity theft. Lower bills for every household in Cape Town.
Affordable homes on well-located land. Rent stabilisation. No child should go hungry. No family without a home.
Renewable energy, electric mobility, sea water cooling for data centres, zero waste and biodiversity protection.
Constitutional obligations, not suggestions. SDP will hold the City accountable to deliver what the Constitution demands.

Eight pillars. Every one a constitutional obligation — not just a campaign promise.
Lower bills through smart purchasing. Rooftop solar on homes, schools and clinics. Fight theft and waste. Energy independence for Cape Town.
Affordable homes on well-located land. Speed up approvals. Promote long-term rent certainty. Protect tenants. Use brownfield land.
Renewable energy, electric mobility for public transport, sea water cooling for data centres, zero waste, protect biodiversity.
Reliable electricity, fair tenders for local businesses, affordable licences, skills development. When small business succeeds, SA succeeds.
No hungry children. Expand school breakfast and lunch. Support single parents. Safe routes to schools. Libraries open after hours.
These are constitutional obligations. SDP champions both sections and will hold the City accountable to deliver basic services to all residents.
Strong SAPS partnerships. Better lighting. CCTV in hotspots. Safe streets around schools and parks. Peace of mind for every family.
Fix leaks, potholes and broken lights faster. Hold contractors accountable for quality and time. A clean, well-maintained city for all.

A PR Councillor Will
Servant Leadership — Not Career Politics
Hold the City to its constitutional obligations — not just promises. Evidence before ideology.
Lower bills, reliable power, rooftop solar in every community. Energy independence for Cape Town.
Affordable homes, rent stabilisation, tenant protection. Strong families, strong communities.
Monitor whether council decisions are actually implemented. Respected because of competence. Trusted because of integrity.
❓ How does the PR ballot work?
In Cape Town you receive two ballot papers. Ballot 1 is for your ward councillor. Ballot 2 is the PR ballot — this is where you vote for a party. Vote SDP on ballot 2 to help us win seats on the City Council and hold it accountable.
